PT Permata Putera Mandiri (PPM), a business unit of PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk (ANJ) which operates in the palm oil industry in West Papua, signed a partnership with the Puja Permata Awiyago Kasih Cooperative (PPAK) to operate a transport dump truck Fresh fruit bunches (FFB) into the palm oil mill.
Chaired by Arnold Bumere and members of seven clans in Puragi Village - Mengge, Kawaine, Bumere, Gue, Atoare, Oropae 1 and Oropae 2 - The PPAK Cooperative has purchased three dump trucks and handed over directly to the Estate Manager Veri Rama Purba at a simple event at the PPM operations office on Wednesday (24/7/2019).
Through cooperation based on freight rates, PPM will manage trucks that will later be used to bring FFB to palm oil mills operated by PT Putera Manunggal Perkasa (PMP), ANJ's business unit in South Sorong Regency and also as a means of transporting food and materials.Chaired by Arnold Bumere and members of seven clans in Puragi Village - Mengge, Kawaine, Bumere, Gue, Atoare, Oropae 1 and Oropae 2 - The PPAK Cooperative has purchased three dump trucks and handed over directly to the Estate Manager Veri Rama Purba at a simple event at the PPM operations office on Wednesday (24/7/2019).
"The achievement by the Puja Permata Awiyago Transportation Cooperative is proof of the concern of the community and the desire to move forward and be independent that can improve their economy through good cooperation," Estate Manager Veri Rama Purba said in his press release after the handover.
PT PMP is entering the completion stage of the construction of the first line of palm oil mill (mill) with an initial production capacity of 45 MT per hour. Facility construction has exceeded 90 percent and is planned for completion in the second quarter of 2019. By 2021, the mill at PMP is targeted to be able to reach a production level of 90 MT per hour.
The commissioning process of the mill operation has begun gradually at the end of May 2019 which processes the first harvest of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) from PMP and PPM plantations. The total planted area of PT PMP and PT PPM plantations was 8,678 hectares at the end of 2018.
Head of Government Relations and Stakeholders of ANJ in the East, Gritje Fonataba, said the cooperation with the Puja Permata Awiyago Cooperative is proof of South Sorong's community support for investment in the palm oil industry by PT PPM and PT PMP.
"After previously with the Sumano Hiwa Mandiri Transportation Cooperative in June, we are proud of establishing cooperation with the Puja Permata Awiyago Transportation Cooperative as our second transportation cooperative partner," he added.
